Embracing New Adventures | Aaron’s Lifelong Learning Journey at YEAH!
Aug 22, 2025
“Once a navy officer, Aaron, now 73 is a familiar face at Yong-en Active Hub (YEAH!). You only live once, so do not hesitate to explore your fullest potential.” He shares confidently, embodying the mentality of “Live to a ripe old age, learn to a ripe old age.”
Aaron discovered YEAH! in 2022 when his friend mentioned a Korean language course
offered there. He actively participated in various workshops and classes, from pilates and learning new instruments and languages to staying updated with the latest technologies and even urban farming. He is living proof that it is never too late to embrace new challenges and rediscover passions.
Aaron’s hobbies usually revolved around adventurous activities such as travelling and hiking. However, YEAH! introduced him to new experiences. He enthusiastically took up workshops like acrylic painting, learning new languages and instruments, and even digital skills to keep up with technological advancements—gaining confidence through overcoming challenges and embracing new experiences.
With the time to focus on himself, he rekindled hobbies that were once set aside due to family and career commitments. YEAH! helped him unleash his potential while improving his mental and physical well-being. “I’m not becoming a couch potato—I’m ageing in a healthy way!” Aaron laughed.
To those hesitant to step out of their comfort zones, Aaron offered this advice: “You only live once, so do not hesitate to explore your potential.” He firmly believed that intentional and active ageing kept the mind sharp and fostered a lifelong learning attitude. He encouraged all seniors to rediscover themselves, especially in their golden years.
