Yong-en Care Centre Celebrates Success of Inaugural Strong & Healthy Fiesta 2026

SINGAPORE, 8 June 2026 — Yong-en Care Centre (Yong-en) successfully hosted its inaugural Strong & Healthy Fiesta on Saturday, 6 June 2026, at JiaYou@Chinatown Point. Supported generously by FairPrice Foundation, the pilot community health event attracted more than 250 residents, senior citizens, wellness enthusiasts, and community partners in a collective effort to champion long-term wellness and healthy ageing.
The Fiesta was deliberately conceptualised as an interactive, participatory experience. All activations were structured around Yong-en’s core multi-pillared wellbeing message to promote strong and healthy bodies, minds, relationships, and communities. Yong-en’s Strong & Healthy Fiesta 2026 is part of the Charity’s 30th Anniversary celebrations.
A Day of Comprehensive Programmes
The event, featuring 11 facilitators, offered wholesome educational programming designed to provide practical, actionable takeaways for the attendees:
- Public Educational Lectures: The Fiesta successfully hosted an array of dedicated public seminars led by clinical and domain experts. Key presentations included a seminar on Delaying and Reversing Frailty by Dr Wee Shiou Liang, cognitive longevity insights by Goshen Consultancy Services Pte Ltd, practical advice on sleep architecture and nutrition by Activa, a BIXEPS Introduction by QuantumX, Ageless Ageing by Dr Geraldine Tan, The Therapy Room and Digital Storytelling by Zhi Tsung.
- Interactive Experiential Workshops: The event featured wellness workshops, covering a range of topics including nutrition by SG Health Coaches, sensory wellness by Teng Peng Sensory Wellness, mental wellness by Mindful Circle, DanSH by Howone and cardio-drumming by Vickey and Shannen. Alongside, Yong-en’s wellness coach team led continuous live demonstrations of Yong-en’s specialised resistance training system alongside targeted frailty screening assessments.
- A Multipurpose Marketplace: The JiaYou Marketplace served as exhibition space for sixteen booths showcasing Yong-en, Monfort and Fei Yue services as well as goods, services and information various commercial partners.
Broad Strategic & Corporate Alliances
The operations of the Strong & Healthy Fiesta 2026 were reinforced by a robust network of 16 strategic partner organisations and vendors exhibiting across the JiaYou venue.
Yong-en Care Centre showcased its comprehensive ecosystem of eldercare and wellness services, including:
- Dementia Day Care: A safe, person-centred environment providing structured activities for seniors with dementia and vital daytime respite for caregivers.
- ENLIVEN (Cognitive Intervention Programme 2.0): A 7-week, multi-modal programme designed to stimulate minds, build physical strength, and foster social connections for those with mild to moderate dementia.
- Yong-en Active Hub (YEAH!): A vibrant community space dedicated to preventative care, social engagement, and lifelong learning for active seniors.
- Advanced Frailty & Strength Interventions: Combining tech-driven physical health solutions like Gym Tonic (IoT-enabled strength training to combat sarcopenia) and BIXEPS (safe electromagnetic waves to stimulate muscle recovery without joint strain) alongside SOAR (Stay Optimal, Active, Robust), a holistic wellness framework integrating physical exercise, nutrition, and psychosocial support to reverse early signs of frailty.
- Home Care Services: Vital clinical and personal care, ranging from nursing and medical assistance to home bathing, tailored for homebound seniors aging in place.

Alongside them, prominent exhibitor partners included:
- SingHealth: Providing critical health information addressing breast health (Breast Centre), ophthalmology (Singapore National Eye Centre), and fall risks assessments.
- Singapore National Stroke Association: Stroke awareness
- Fullerton Health: Providing baseline vitals and frailty checks and Travel and First Aid kits.
- Montfort Care: Showcasing essential community mental health assets (CREST and COMIT teams).
- Fei Yue: providing Advance Care Planning and Lasting Power of Attorney counselling.
- The Prosthetic Company: Providing advanced knee health solutions.
- Specialised Lifestyle Vendors: Booths by True65 Wellness Tea and TrueHugz Adult Diapers.
Commendation of Event Volunteers

The deployment of the event was driven by a contingent of over 30 registered volunteers. Yong-en formally acknowledges corporate volunteers from the FairPrice Group (FPG), a core cohort of 7 volunteers from public, 11 full-day youth volunteers, 8 YEAH! volunteers, 2 Enliven volunteers, 2 Gym Tonic volunteers, and 11 student leaders from the Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (SCGS), who capably managed various event needs including, venue preparations, onsite hosting and booth operations. Additional support was provided by Perennial, who supported the event’s local marketing reach through complimentary digital advertising boards across Chinatown Point.

The strong public turnout and partnership synergy achieved during this inaugural launch reinforce Yong-en’s commitment to sustainable preventative health and ageing-in-place. By building strong local networks and equipping residents with practical lifestyle strategies, Yong-en continues to strengthen community safety nets and advance healthy ageing.

Beyond their support for our Wholesome Living, Hearty Giving programme, FPG volunteers actively engaged participants at the Protein Pledge booth, raising awareness of the importance of adequate protein intake for strength, muscle health, and healthy ageing. This was complemented by the distribution of eggs to beneficiaries, reinforcing the importance of good nutrition within the community. Their enthusiasm and interactions with participants contributed to the vibrant and educational atmosphere of the Fiesta.

Our Dementia Day Care enables seniors with dementia to age meaningfully while allowing respite for caregivers.
